QUOTE (SOCKS @ Nov 19 2008, 09:54 AM)
or since most people spend less than 4k$ on their tib and rota is a good quality 'knock-off' its a great option.. spending 2k$ or so on rims/tires for a DD econobox is moronic

oh dam am i in trouble.. LOL shit i dont even want to know how much i spent..

^^ me too. My tib was like $9,500 when I bought it. I paid below bluebook value for it and I've put more into it then it's worth.

gotta buy REAL JDM yO.. so you can say you have it.

I can't believe that you'd say that. That's like making fun of real American products, or real German products. Japaneese products are good.

Oh Noez DTN he did say it. Dtn you need to go buy a set of jdm rims for your kdm car cause that's what all the honduh dicks do.

At what point did socks make any reference to their products beeing inferior or bad? You are trying to read between the lines when there is no more than one line to read. Socks point as well as mine is why buy the expensive thing so you can say I got the real deal, when there is a less expensive alternative that has quality on par with that of the real deal(jdm wheel.)

^ good point RR.

this is what i think. as long as the wheels pass/meet all safety standards for wheels then by all means get what you what and what you think is good. There is a fine line between good wheels and cheap and dangerous. also it depends on what kind of driving you do. i do mountain passes and high speed so i went with Rays and now i will change to weds-sports tc105n soon. but since the wheels take more abuse then most people think its better to spend alittle bit more.

" spend the extra 5 cents to go first class"

but this is just my thought as a driver/builder

nothing more.

them rims dont look to bad they could look better if you drop it abit.

I totaly agree with you MJ, If you are really beating on the car using it for auto x or whatever, spend the money and do it right. Most of the folks on here DD their car and have no need for such a high quality wheel. All they are after is the look of the wheel not the performance aspect.

Here's a good one... I bought my '01 new for $13,500, spent about $15,000 modding it and sold it 4 years later with 20K miles for $6500.

For some of us, it's not about the money.
