I just got a set of Rota Circuit 8 Bronze for my 2000 Hyundai Tiburon and I was wondering how to read the garble on the back of the wheel.

Why I need to:

* I need to determine what type of centric ring to get (What size, that is)
* Also, need to figure out if they'll for sure fit..

I asked for 4x114.3, but here's what the back of the wheel says:

PCD114.8 - 620kg (I *think* the 8 is an 8.. not a 3.. but I could be mistaken or the print could have just filled in the 3 to make it an 8?)
PCD100 - 500kg
70x16.40 ROTA (The "." in this is like a big blob.. I'm not sure if it was supposed to be a - or +?)
46/05 (In a circle mark with 46 on top and 05 on bottom)

I won't even take any guesses at it .. I have a couple, but I don't want to look like a goof..

ALSO! - Does anybody know if Autozone/Kragen sells the centric rings or locking lugs..? I know that people's opinion on locking lugs varies, so please no input whether I should get them or not. I have to get new lugs anyhow, so might as well deal with the locking kind ... to, at least, help deter thiefs.. Sorta like an alarm. If someone wants your stuff, they'll find some way of taking it. However, doesn't mean you shouldn't at least help protect your stuff..

TIA!

PCD100 and PCD114.3 (not 8) refer to the distance between the bolt holes (Pitch Center Diameter). The 620kg and 500kg are the maximum load when using that particular bolt pattern. 70x16.40 mean 7" x 16" with a +40mm offset. The last part means the rim was made in the 46th week of 2005.

Autozone sells tuner lugs which are the ones that have splines on them. I'm not aware of locking lugs. But you can get ones that have special tools required to remove them so that not anyone can grab a lug wrench and pull your tires off.

^ that's what I thought he meant. Needs special tool = effectively locked to the casual wheel thief.

those are nice looking wheels. but why rock knock offwheels?? just seems like if you wanted those wheels you would save and buy the real thing and not a cheap knock off.

^^ Why do you think the wheels are knock offs?

Thank you, sir! The info is much appreciated!

And, thank you! I was wondering if Autozone sold such a thing. I'll have to go check em' out and see what I can get. I know wheeldude.com is located close to me too, just don't know if they for sure do in-store pick ups.

My rotas have the same jiberish on them and are deffinately not knockoffs.

i8acobra 11-18-2008 05:08 PM

I think the "knock-off" statement was a reference to the fact that alot of Rotas are knock-off's of high priced JDM rims. For example, the Slipstream is a Spoon Sports knock-off.

optimoprime 11-18-2008 05:13 PM

EVERY ROTA wheel is a knock off of a nice quality JDM wheel. thats all they do is make knock offs, thats why you allways see honda guys rockin them. just seems like if you like a wheel you would buy the real thing and not a imitation.
