Has anyone actually gotten their city to replace a blown out tire

because of bad roads and potholes? How did you get them to pay for it? What steps do you need to do?

I contacted the city last year about a blown tire due to a pothole. I visited my city's website and followed the instructions from a link they had posted. I had to send an email to someone in the roads/highway maintenance department with a copy of my repair order and a short blurb about when/where and how the damage happened. They denied my claim...... apparently they rarely ever pay out for repairs. :dunno: It was worth a shot.

Happened to me. It was a pain in the ass but they paid. Basically had to do the following:

1. Take a pic of the pothole that blew out my tire and bent my rim

2. Contact the city

3. Get an incident form to fill out that explains what happened

4. Buy the new tire and rim

5. Submit the form and receipts to the city

6. Wait 6-7 weeks for a check to finally arrive
