Is it true that the Eibach springs will only last 15K miles until they start wearing out already? I wasn't sure if that was true so I wanted to double check on it.

CyberShark May 26, 2005 01:53 PM

I've never heard that..it takes time for the Eibachs to settle after you install them though.

2kShark May 26, 2005 02:04 PM

I understand that it takes time to break the springs in, and to let them settle but hopefully this info on the springs is false. Eibach are the most durable springs out there, and they have to outlast stock

Springs don't wear out in 15K miles... unless they truly suck... the rest of the assembly would have to blow (struts, etc.) before the springs started to see any major wear and tear.

Dmitry May 26, 2005 02:40 PM

springs will settle down a bit, but it's normal.

springs don't wear so fast.

But it could be possible if you overload you car too much.

Jaws021 May 26, 2005 02:47 PM

i have never heard of that happen...

eibach is a very reputable brand...

paperstsoapco May 26, 2005 02:54 PM

i cant imagine theyd wear out after only 15k

but i was wondering what, if any mal effects there would be if you use stock struts?

Dmitry May 26, 2005 02:57 PM

^^^ if you use stock shocks with lowering springs you will not damage springs, but your shock could die much faster.

CyberShark May 26, 2005 02:58 PM

I've had mine for around 3 years now and the springs are doing fine

draguntib May 26, 2005 02:58 PM

Yea i cant imagine Eibach having such a good rep if they ran down that fast. They are good springs. Fixing to get me some next month
