about last week i noticed a pretty bad click in my steering, it isint while turning its everytime you pass a certain point... for example

C = center
- steering wheel movement
L- full left
R full right
* click

L--*--*------C-----*--*--R

dont notice it when driving since i never have to turn the wheel so sharply while driving, but in parking lot speeds or while making a u turn or moving the wheel while stationary when you get closer to the end it makes a big click, and when you move it left and right at that point itll click so its actually at a certain point where it clicks

any ideas what this could be?

was there anything you did under the car? If it were my car, i'd pull up on something and start checking tightness of bolts all over.

alright so say its the axles, would this clicking persist until total failure of the part? like a break in the axle for example or would there be other signs

your cv boot might be ripped and leaked out grease. or your axles are just old and suck haha. if its the boot, you might be better off just getting an axle (especially cuz the cv joint might be f***ed). i know ones from like advance or autozone arent expensive and im not really getting what u asked either? haha you know it failed if your axle is hangin down under your car.

Ya clicking will get louder untill the Cv joint fails and snaps. If this happens at highways speeds....... owned.gif
