I was trying to find a topic on this but didnt so here it is, my tiburon is on its way to getting D/S rotors with new semi metalic pads, but thats not all, my driver axle also needs to be replace as it makes a clicking noise whenever i make a right or left turn. My mechanic told me when its that-that usually it is recommended to change both driver and passenger axles. One last thing I found axles for my car in ebay but i keep finding them in automatic and some of the axles I have found either come with or w/o abs. now I know that an axle thats for automatic wont fit a standard tranny, but does the abs matter too? thanks in advance for your asnwers smile.gif

That is all.

The ABS ones, if I remember right, come with a little toothed insert around near the knuckle.

I've got an ABS one on my non ABS RD 2.

I'd actually suggest you get a brand new one, from Napa Autoparts, it's worth not having another headache.

yeah, compare the prices, if you can wait and it's cheaper at Rock Auto, get it there, if you need it immediately, Napa. I went all over to find one, but it took forever.

I bought one at advanced, waited 3 days, and it came in as a 1 1/2" thick axle. Ours are like 3/4". I would not buy one from advanced.

Look at this axle shaft I found in ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/96-98-Elant...sQ5fAccessories

it says that it fits both auto/standard tranny with or without abs, too good to be true? I also called my local napa store and asked for my specific axle and they have to order it but it comes up to $53.99, what do you guys think I should do? One last thing when I called up for my axle, the napa representative said, "tiburon? what is that cadilac"? LMAO that was funny.

Why? they're $50 on rockauto
