2017 Santa Fe SE AWD rear air shocks or spring assist
 

I would like the stiffen up the rear suspension with either air shocks or air lift. I seem to bottom out easily on speed bumps, also I want to tow with a 300# tongue weight. I see there is a cushioned filler on the inside of the rear springs preventing an "in spring" airlift. Has anyone found and air shock that may be fitted? I would like to stay away from the in between the coil cushions. Any experience or advice is appreciated.

The thing you are looking for is often called a "helper spring". These are often in the form of a replacement for the bump-stop in the middle of your current spring, though some bolt on other locations.

Thank you very much for your quick response. I agree with the premise of the first fix, that is the most desirable to me, however that design cuts off at 2016. I have a 2017.

The second fix I rejected from an engineering standpoint stated in my original post, that the "between the coil" rubber spacer puts more stress on the remaining coils, and is not at all desirable.

I have researched the third suggestion of CARiD earlier and I saw no products for that year Santa Fe.

It appears there are no air shocks available either. It may be a situation that it is too new a design that the aftermarket has not caught up yet, or not enough vehicles to warrant development of a solution.
