Yes, I have been bitten by the 'duuhh', the Honduuhh bug. It's dirt cheap and very easy to make fast. I used all the money from selling my Tib, the turbo kit and a little savings to finance this. This used to belong to my friend, and he allowed me to pay him in terms. It has not yet run as of this restoration. It used to be a 13 sec SOHC powered car prior to this full restoration. Hopefully this will come out nice and powerful. It's a little bit dirty as of the moment.

Back in 2007, when it was planned to be transformed into a drag car.. whew good thing it was canceled

Now as of Jan 2009

Yup it's quite sad actually... but as you said, you can't go wrong with a Honda. considering practicality here in the Philippines, I guess I'm better off with this.

I never knew you where into my 'updates', well it touched me more than you can imagine.

yes it may be faster (maybe alot, who knows) but not as impressive as the Tib. everyone here has got Hondas, Toyotas, Mitsus, etc... and it's not as common here as in other countries. out of 20 honda entrants in a drag event, maybe 2 there are EK hatches..

but out of 40 entrants, only 1 is a Hyundai lmao.gif

shit I'm gonna miss being different...

just a few updates on this EK: (I'm making this my 'blog' lol )

sold the B18C Type R engine to get a lower-spec B18B engine to finance my other parts.

so this time I got 81mm 4AGZE Pistons and IB Spec Connecting Rods (Taiwan Rods) off from the money of the block exchange. I'm also thinking of selling the real deal Volks to get Rota CE28 knock-offs... and using my old Taiwan made intercooler from the Hyundai! cheap hot-rodding for the mother***ing win!!! lmao.gif damn I can't wait to fire this thing up and get in on the road...

and this is my daily-driver for the meantime... got this for a really cheap price. It only even has 44XXXkms!!!:

those pictures were taken the week I got it.

problems were:
temp switch for aux fan was busted
broken driver side mirror stalk
one busted side lamp bulb
busted odometer (it stopped just a few days after the pickup)
misfire at low rpms
some electric seat adjustment switches not responding
alot of panels with faded paint
mercedes hood ornament likes to rest down when travelling 100+km/h (60+ mph) hahahaha
falling ceiling upholstery on the sunroof

the only mods so far are new window tints which a local accessory shop performed... old ones were really full of bubbles and whatnot..

yesterday, got my lazy ass off to replace the air filter, spark plugs, oil filter, fuel filter, change the oil to a Royal Purple synthetic one. I also got the aux fan and odometer a quick fix. also got around to making the various electric switches to work and tune the engine via the fuel mixture screw (a new thing to me, programmable ECUs have been spoiling me/us so much!) as this thing is "Semi-Electronic/Electro-Mechanical Fuel Injected"... whatever lol and the misfiring has been gone ever since.

I love the comfort this thing gives me... I believe this is one of the last 'comfortable' MBs as the 1996 and above models I have rode or driven aren't that comfortable anymore.. they say this thing is one of the best engineered cars ever produced. and I think I'm inclining in believing that, after seeing almost everything was still good after 20 years... but certainly not the best engineered, maybe on the top 30 or 50 at the very least.

can you tell Im very bored?? lol

PS:

my great grandfather back in the 30's, with his own Mercedes

no, that Evo belonged to my father! If I had that, I'd just concentrate on that car rather than the Tiburon!

but it was a 'joint' project between me and him, and that's the same thing with the GT-R. but technically, both are his. I just fix and borrow them from time to time. smile.gif

I know it's crazy how old school that pic is. my uncle showed it to me, saying his grandfather (my great grandfather) also drove a Mercedes just like my grandfather and him. he said "it runs in the family from generation to generation" which I hope its not the case lol because they don't realize how bored I actually am with these MBs (except maybe for the AMGs E55s or higher spec models which I can only buy in my dreams!)
