1. How did you get into the Hyundai scene?
I purchased my first Tiby for a daily commuter to work 9 years ago and fell in love with itI had planned on supercharging her,but as the years grew on,and the kms racked up,I
searched for
another fresh clean Tib to power up, 4 years ago I found this mint turbocharged tiburon in NFLD Canada,The previous owner had done a excelent job building her!,But she needed some
more
love,so soon as I got her, I rebuilt,repainted,and restored and improoved her inside and out ,Check out my rebuild thread in the forced induction fourm. .Even though I have
fail
storys as well as success storys,it is all worth it in the end when your driving in her! ..Plus I just love being able to do 90% of the work myself, I’m still a bit shakey on the
tuning of her,but I have an awesome tuner/friend!
2. What has been your best accomplishment with the car?
My first goal was to reach 300 hp,and be safely tuned,I have had higher numbers but want to be safe for now @ 18 psi..I had never intended to race her, but,peer pressure
prevailed,and now I’m a track addict ,so now my goal is to go faster than the last time I raced each time lol! this summer my best was 12.68, I hope to beat that next summer
if all
goes well.
3. Where do you see yourself in the immediate and long term future with the car?
I Actually plan on keeping this Tib for a long long time. I never winter drive, stored,and drive her almost daily in the summertime,almost because daily I have a 120km commute to
work and
dont want to rack up too many kms on the odo,.But travelling all over the Maritimes racing ,usually 5 hour journeys to most tracks with slicks in the hatch are fun trips.
Immidiate
plans are to install alt relocate kit,fab a more freely flowing downpipe,and dyno tune up to 22 psi before she gets parked for the winter. Over the winter I’m pondering a
completely
worked and flow tested Head ,maybe a new paint scheme and rims.
