No way a factory turbo will sound like that though. Gonna have to go top mount with a big enough turbo to suck a baby in.

The sound has more to do with the compressor and turbine wheel design, not the size.

Pretty sure that GC has enough power considering the size of turbo it's running. My guess is it's in the 400-500 HP range.

It sounds like that because they put a mike under the hood, near the turbo.

I was lucky enough to have an 03 F250 which is famous for having a jet-like scream. It was all due to only having 10 vanes on the turbine versus 12, then 15 as the years progressed. Ford did that to quiet them down as they got complaints. Cummins also used a "silencer" disk on the compressor side of their turbos to quiet them down. Neither trucks had larger turbo's than the one on the Gen. The Holset H1C had a nice whistle sound on my Tiband 300zx without an exhaust. Yet my much larger Precision is quiet as hell.

Here's a vid of one of MANY people who just swap 03 turbo's into their 03-07 Powerstrokes just to get the whistle. "Redneck Rice"

I'd give my left nut to have 500 horsies on my car.
