Default Beta 2 Hi Po Cams?

Anyone know if someone still makes Hi Po cams for the Beta 2 Heads? Or if Crower has any regrind info on hand?

Colt Cams will make regrinds for anything. Always has for Hyundais. They have their own specs, but will make custom if you provide the info.

Yeah, looked at Colt's website and it just says for Kia and has a dead link to kiafx for specs...

I had Colt do a regrind on my beta II cams. Costs roughly $400 and turn around time was about 2 weeks.

what sort of realistic gains can be expected with the colt re grinds? As i'm in the UK i'd need to factor shipping into the cost of a pair of cams, i'm currently running twin RD exhaust cams in a GK head.

The gains you get from a set of cams depends on what type of regrind you get to match what else is done to your motor as well as what you have to tune with. Regrinds as agressive as Jon's need a standalone ECU and a good amount of head work done to take advantage of the increased lobe separation and lift.



If your not planning on doing head work like porting the intake and exhaust ports and are still running the stock ECU I wouldn't bother with a set of cams as you won't see very much benefit.

i am still on the stock ecu, a decent piggyback is probably my next purchase.



I did do a bit of work on the ports but didn't increase the size of them, the inlets on the GK head seem big enough to start with. I just knife edged the dividers, removed the casting marks etc. Same on exhausts but i also polished the exhausts more than the intake.
