According to a study by the World Health Organization and the US National Cancer Institute the total global cost of smoking in terms of health care costs and production losses amounts to more than a trillion dollars per year. And six million people are estimated to die from smoking annually.

To help people quit smoking the Swedish pharmacy Apotek Hjärtat is running a campaign featuring a billboard that starts coughing whenever a smoker is near - as a friendly reminder. The billboard is equipped with a smoke detector which triggers the reaction, Resumé reports.
