Default trunk time!

well, the new car has a 10 speaker setup!

none of them are a subwoofer though

time to fix that. i got plenty of room for it:

yes that's 20 cubic ft of trunk space.

im going to build a false wall right in front of the spare tire well (which has no spare tire....)

probably something like this but with one sub:

im thinkin a soundqubed 1200 amp pushing sundown sa12 or a soundqubed HDS3.115 in a ported box around 33hz but not before deadening everything i possibly can with some bquiet or secondskin or some sh*t like that.

drop a good spare AGM battery into my fake spare tire well and i should be good to go.

then sometime next year ill work on replacing the shitty "sony" interior speakers with literally anything else. probably some infinity or jbls and another soundqubed amp and some sorta DSP maybe a jbl ms-8 or that audison one. sound deaden all the things once again.

sad that the Blows setup i have in the pathfinder sounds better than the much more expensive SHO's.

If you've got the 401a package, you should have 12 speakers, including 2 subs on the rear deck. Granted, they suck, but they should be there.

well sh*t i thought it was only 10. they all suck anyways.

the rear "subwoofer" is (2) 6x8s. if you move the bass level in the radio to anything above 1 or 2 (out of 5) it all rattles and clips itself to death.

i have headphones that handle it better.

boooo sony BOOOOO.

It's definitely not the Shaker 1000 I had in my Mustang or even the system in the Focus ST. Those at least sound decent.

You must have driven an ST2 with the full leather seats. The partial leather seats aren't as tight.

bump.

just found out that 2 of the 12 speakers are the rear door speakers that have 2 way speakers in them.

cheapest copout ever.

also found out if i wanna get fancy with the stereo ill lose all my sync stuff.

including steering wheel controls, bluetooth, and factory volume adjustment.

guess ill just tap the front speakers to get a better signal and run some subs in the back. then replace the doors and let the factory amp power them.

turn off those janky 6x9s in the rear deck lid.

Smart idea! Losing steering controls is not something I want to do either, so I kept my factory deck, but added a 7" android tablet into the dash, and relocated my info screen. I upgraded all the speakers, added subs and ran a LOC tapped into the rear speakers for the signal. Easiest way to do it if you want to keep factory stuff in place.
