a/c issue
I decided to top off my a/c system due to the fact that during idle (with the ac on) I'd be sweating... I hooked up the recharge can from auto zone. I dialed I the proper ambient temp hooked up the can and viola' system was overcharged! Ok so I bled off the system to a acceptable level- ac @idle was warm warm warm. Bled off a bit more Recharged the system-.... Now it's worse! I hear a hiss from the passenger side (when the ac is on) and the hiss changes w rpm. My instincts tell me it's a vacuum leak, but it also might be the compressor doing it's job??? I'm sweating and stumped-... Any help would be appreciated!

Need to get a reading from both sides and report back. I think you can rent a gauge to check both from autoparts places. You may end up needing to drain the system (legally - venting to the atmosphere is illegal in most places), pull a vacuum on the system using a pump (you can rent them), then refill the system the right way. If you have a leak you will know it when trying to get a vacuum in the system.
