Default Help

Hi all. I have been restoring a 96 1.8 manual coupe.

Done all the bushes, bearings, brakes and everything in the rear, no problems.

whilst putting the front back together after replacing everything. Clutch, bushes etc.

Put the new cv drive shafts in, after tightened up the axle bolt i turned the hub and

the engine rocks from side to side like something is out of balance.

Been back over it all, but can not find what is causing it.

Anyone had this problem or can help?

Thanks Richter

Def the first of this happening. We know others who have done a lot of the same work without any problems. Maybe someone else can chime in with their thoughts.

How is it rocking? In relation to the car from front to back or side to side?

If the mounts are installed correctly and are the correct parts with the correct bolts, the engine can barely move.

You're going to have to post a video or something. At least be more specific.

Sounds like the CV joint may be binding and pushing on the transaxle.
