Were you spanked as a child?
A lot of parents dont really discipline their kids today and it's probably why so many little a**holes are running around thinking they can get away with whatever they want. As a kid, my parents would beat my ass if I did something wrong or acted up in public. They would restrict me and take away things that I enjoyed and often times I would even get that dreaded look from my mom if I started to be bad. It taught me respect and manners though. I think I turned out pretty well because of the fact that my parents were hard on me and made me do well in life.

I had never even heard of the term "time-out" used in regards to child discipline until I was in my 20's. When I was a kid, everyone got spanked. Years ago, a friend of mine told me he'd send his kids to their room when they misbehaved. I asked if he took away their phones, TV and laptops when he did. He actually said, "No. If I did that, what would they do in there"? I actually placed my palm upon my face.

I know so many parents that don't even punish any more. They prefer "positive reinforcement only," and their child behavior reflects.

I wasnt spanked but I was grounded a few times with no "luxuries" like Nintendo, phone, tv, not allowed to go outside with friends. My parents taught me pretty well the difference between right and wrong and how to act right in public.

My parents didnt play around. They wooped my ass if I was acting out of place and if I didnt do well in school or acted up in public, I had things taken away for a week or two to make me think about what I did or to get my ass back in line.
