Default Are there any benefits to using higher octane gas

Even if your engine doesnt need it? I know I can use 87 with no problems but I have been using 93 for the past 3 years. I dont feel any difference other than a lighter wallet but does higher octane do anything good for engines at all, even if not needed?

If it runs fine on 87 you are literally throwing away money. IF it were an engine that was designed for 93 but detunes itself for use with 87 you would see a small performance increase with 93. Whatever it says in the manual, use that.
