Default Snapped my ebrake cable

Pulled up on my ebrake today, heard a pop and the handle was very loose. What are the chances it just snapped by the brakes and not inside the car? Is this an easy fix or am I looking at a difficult task ahead of me?

It's not too shabby and would say a couple hours. When I did mine the hardest part was getting the cable off of the rear calipers themselves.

Check for seized parking brake mechanism on the rear calipers. That was what snapped the cable on my RD2 and GK.

Yeah mine would get stuck too during the winter for some reason. The handles were both loose on all of my Tiburons and Elantras for years but it somehow didn't deter the overall function. It must have been a flawed design.
