Mild increase in redline
With a proper port and polish on the head and new pistons, is it possible to increase the redline limit of a beta by a few hundred RPMS?

7200 is safe stock, naturally asperated
Loses power past 6500 if you don't change cams or cam timing tho..
Might be able to gain a little if the intake and exhaust manifolds are tuned for higher rpm, but you would for sure lose more down low..
Even changing cams or timing your trading low-mid range power for a little up top..
Any more rpm's / boost, and your gonna need valve springs...
Also the beta engines have a pretty high piston speed, any more then 8000 rpm and your gonna start having accelerated piston/cylinder wear

You are looking at bulletproofing the motor basically. And you'd need to tune the intake wave for the increased RPM range.
If you are looking for a high RPM build then mathing out thermal expansion and upgrading to a mid-sleeves with some kind of ceramic, nikasil or WPC will be a must. And expect to replace them regularly.
Either way for the money it's not a valuable investment, especially not for the amount it will cost over time.

For the same cost to get that to make power a nice/simple turbo setup would make more power and be more reliable I think. Our engines don't take to N/a very well.

They take to it okay. I mean, if you want to spend more money than a mild turbo build that would make more power, you can have the sh*t idle quality and total lack of vacuum of a bigass NA setup on a Beta. But it just doesn't make any sense to do it.
