Hyundai Elantra Forum The Hyundai Elantra Forum. Later models (96-up) of this 4-door share their Beta engines and chassis with the Hyundai Tiburon. Earlier Mistubishi-based Hyundai Elantras (92-95) are perfect candidates for the popular 4g63t motor swap, which turns the Hyundai Elantra into a real sleeper. Believe it or not, the factory actually did test your vehicle out to give you good performance. Now if you have performance mods that support the need to adjust your gap, then that's what we need to know to give you any kind of recommendation.

Unless you're running massive power adders, like a turbo or nitrous...there's zero reason to change the gap from factory, even with just simple bolt ons. Plus, changing the gap will give you no increase in power what so ever.
