Hyundai Elantra Forum The Hyundai Elantra Forum. Later models (96-up) of this 4-door share their Beta engines and chassis with the Hyundai Tiburon. Earlier Mistubishi-based Hyundai Elantras (92-95) are perfect candidates for the popular 4g63t motor swap, which turns the Hyundai Elantra into a real sleeper. These characteristics make the Hyundai Elantra a great car for those who want sports car performance with family car flexibility.

Default Stupid or ridiculous features on your car

What features or build options that are on your car that make you feel Hyundai was stupid for implementing or putting in? I think our cars dont have as much as other makes and models.

On my RD I think it's the cup holder.... you cant put a bottle of water in it or my double gulp of mountain dew.

I lied, I don't really like mountain dew and I almost never go to 7eleven.

on my pathfinder the headphone jack/cig lighter port is in a location where on a trip my passengers tend to destroy it with their knees

ive replaced 3-4 power inverters/cell phone chargers cuz of it and a couple headphone cords

not mine (wood grain ) but look right next to the glovebox, thats where its at

Hell yeah! The cup holders in RD's are probably the worst engineering of all Hyundai's. Who ever thought those things were a great idea should be kicked in the nuts!

Given the psychical dimensions of most Koreans I dare say that those cup holders were never meant for a 7 eleven bathtub.

Of course that said, I'm not so certain that my MC needs 17 ash trays for 4 seats.

The cupholder in the Miata is EXACTLY where my elbow needs to be. It's worse than useless.

Yeah, the cupholder is pointless in the rd's. But, that little light in the hatch is equally useless. Changed the festoon to leds and still can barely see anything in there.
