My thoughts on Halloween this year
Is it just me or are people no where near as smart as they used to be?
First... If you're an adult, bringing your your children around for some trick-or-treating, that's great. You rock as a parent. If, however, you are going to come to my door with your children carrying your own bag and telling me "it's for the baby", you suck as a parent. If your "baby" is too young to trick-or-treat, they're too young to be eating candy... Or you're lying and getting it for yourself.
Second... If it's 8pm and my porch light is off, don't send a group of 4 children, all under 5 years old to my door to pound on it yelling "open up". I don't enjoy having to tell little kids "I'm sorry, I'm all out of candy".
Oh, and "get off my lawn!!!"

Honestly, I'd take that over my experience this year. We had ZERO kids. Everyone was panicking about laced candy, ebola, devil worship and/or what ever else. It's just stupid. No kids in my neighborhood were permitted to go trick-or-treating even though many of us prepped for little ones. Instead they stayed inside and parents were encouraged by local religious typos to by big bags of candy at the store for them. So they did.... this morning.... when they are on clearance. NOT EVEN ON HALLOWEEN! Parents won't let kids be kids anymore. It's pathetic how paranoid people are any more and really sucks for the kids.
Being a kid is about falling down breaking a few bones. It prepares you for real life.

I had a couple show up at my second floor door one year telling me they didn't want to bring the baby up the stairs to get the candy, yet, they both had a bag with hands out. Needless to say, I said if they actually left a baby in a stroller downstairs that I was calling the police. They left empty handed... Idiots.

Same as tibbi.
No kids, both my wife and I's parents had very little kids as well
Everyone's doing the "trunk or treating" in the mall parking lots.
Oh how times have changed, who would have thought the day would come where it would be acceptable to take candy from a strangers car

I think next year I'm gonna wear a Jester costume and rent a cargo van. I'll just park in random shopping centers near the trunk-or-treaters with a sign that says "free candy". I better start saving bail money now.

ill usually just toss a handful of candy into a bowl and leave it outside. if someone wants to ruin it for everyone else, good for them.
although i once had my bowl stolen.
that sucked. but whoever did that....i like you.

I can count on one hand how many children I've had come to my doot on halloween. Most just go to the malls and the rich parts of town.
