Default Fuel Filter with a demon

I bought a fuel filter from Autozone. The top fitting would not seat properly on it. Took it back and tried putting the old one on. It mated nice and looked to have seated good. Started it up and there is a pin hole leak coming between the mating surfaces. Now, the fitting slides in and out pretty easily, something tells me that is not correct. And why does it leak? How do I fix it?

Really? I was thinking that or maybe the flare on the fitting needed help. But o-ring is a good idea. I didn't see one when I pulled it apart. I suppose it would need to be a fuel treated one. I'll try it. Thanks.

Yea needs to be fuel rated. O ring should be on the pipe that goes into the filter from memory.

I have it all figured. Took a chance and tried an o-ring. Ran it hard and found no leaks. It goes on the base or shown as choice B.Thanks.

In theory, yes. In practice if it were my car, probably not if it doesn't leak
