Default Ray Rice

As some of you may know, Ray Rice was fired for knocking out his (then) fiance in an elevator which was caught on video. They are married now, which means she stayed with him even after he went all Chris Brown on her.

Do you think his penalty is too much (being fired from his team and having his life ruined) or was it right? There are rumors though that he might get picked up by another team. He hasnt been banned from the NFL. He just lost his contract with the Ravens.

He is banned from the NFL. Indefinitely suspended = fired until further notice. He can't play in the NFL any more until the league changes its mind, and it would make zero sense for a different team to hire him if he can't play.

He signed on to a contract that probably said something about behaving not too-terribly-badly. Getting caught out on video hulk smashing a woman, no matter how lippy or spitty she was at the time, counts. The team and the league will do what they think loses them the fewest dollars, and they probably wrote the contracts to enable them to do just that, whenever they feel like it.

He signed the contracts.

If you outweigh a woman by double, you don't get to haul off and hit her full-strength. That she hit her head and passed out was his (and her) bad luck, but it doesn't make it worse to me. Their relationship is jacked up but that's their business. He has shown himself to be unpredictable in bad/violent ways, and that makes him a lousy employment risk for any other job he might be qualified to do. Time to cut back on the expenses to meet the new lower retirement paycheck.
