Is there a way to raise the rev limiter?
I always wondered if there was a way to raise the rev limiter some safely without blowing up the engine. Since you cant tune the ECU because it's locked, Im assuming you can only do it with a stand alone, correct?

the only thing you'll gain from hacking the engine or ecu is risking blowing up your internals, while at the same time not gain any more power cause the engine don't make any more power than stated in it's optimal rev range.

Here's a topic that's related to your question! Plus, I might be the only one left to have this modification done on my spare ECU by this company...

Revving out a beta is a painful experience
It has a stroke longer than some diesels
There's a youtube video somewhere with a PR guy that had a hacked ECU with no rev limit, on a stockish engine it was a pointless exercise.

Its pointless to raise the limiter on an NA beta. The intake tune is such that much over the stock red line the power drop off will hurt more than help.
iirc (I did the math a while back) the beta is a 4th wave tune and much beyond 6600 you're losing a significant amount of power. Plus as has been stated, it increases the likelihood of failure. You'd need a spacer on the intake and some serious math to make something like this even logical.
