Default Working out the kinks from my LC beta swap

Hey guys, I've finally found the time to finish up my beta swapped accent (2001 1.5 body/2000 elantra engine with 2002 manifold+sensors+ecu) and I need some help if possible! The first thing is I find the engine isn't running to its full potential and seems to have power loss in the higher rpms. I changed my intake gasket and checked my vacuum lines and everything seems to be in order. Though I am getting a code for my fuel tank pressure sensor because I have yet to swap out my DTL for the ftps but I didn't think that would change anything.. Also it seems to have trouble accelerating when the engine is running at temperature but not when it's cold.

On a slightly different note, I hooked up my scanner to it and it seems I may have wired the ecu so that it does not have constant memory power because I can't pick up any freeze frame data, so I can't check to see how the car is running. I get codes but that's it. I'm guessing when I turn the key off I'm resetting the ecu everytime. I have this pinout list from Hotblue's sticky but I can't determine which one is the memory power.

The member hotblue02 on this forum sold me this wiring harness and I had to redo the power distribution because a few things were different on my car than his.

So if anyone can shed light on this memory power issue so that I can find out more about the loss of power, that would be awesome. Any help is appreciated thanks! I've been very anxious to finish off the performance part of the car so I can get into the aesthetics haha.

I won't be much help on the wiring but if you notice a consistent loss of power in the high RPM range, you might double-check the timing belt is not installed one-tooth-off.

Didn't think about that, I'll check it tomorrow. Thanks!

So I checked my timing and it's fine. But the most bizarre thing: i went for a drive last night to show someone what was going on, I was slowly climbing (as usual) to 100km/h in 3rd gear when I heard a sound of some sort of pressure being released and all of a sudden I was flying! Anyway, the car seems to have full power restored at top end, thankfully by complete accident. I still have yet to figure out this wiring issue though, even with the use of HMA service I couldn't make out which of the power wires are constant memory.

Allofasudden something busted loose. Clogged fuel filter, maybe air filter? Pop goes the filter element and suddenly flow is restored!

When's the last time you changed the air and fuel filters? I would be curious to see what the insides of the fuel filter look like, but they're a bit of a hassle to open (safely).

I just recently changed my fuel pump and filter. Last time I checked my air filter it was okay and that was about 2 months ago. Had this problem since then so I don't think that would be it. I'm starting to think it's my cat that's clogged. It'll be off with the turbo I'm getting soon lol so I'll check this weekend and see how it looks. Thanks for the help! I'm still lost on that wiring too haha

I had a misfire problem last year so I'm thinking she melted out!

My wife's truck had a bad misfire a while back and now it has a bad cat also. Boo!

As for the wiring, it may be time to pony up for a subscription to hyundaitechinfo. It sucks so bad they made it non-free, but it is a tremendous resource if you don't have a full set of manuals for your car.

Yeah it's unfortunate, but I just purchased a turbo kit from someone who lost their tiburon before getting the chance to install it. I'll be using it as a replacement, so I'm not too upset

I usually use hma and I had a free account but was upset to see they deleted it and now I need to pay. But luckily I printed off every important diagram for both my car and the donor way back when and just found them in my closet. I figured out my problem and now I'm getting FF data and a new codes as well. Nothing more than evaporative stuff due to my lack of ftps still. The memory power for 2002 elantra is pin 3 and I spliced it into the ecu fuse. So if ANYONE needs help with wiring beta swaps I am now very familiar with the topic and may be able to assist in the process haha.
