Engine Wiring Harness
Hello,
I've been looking for part number 207-2C182. I'm looking for it new or used with no wire damage. No luck with local or regional parts yards or even online stores. Can anyone help me find this part or know someone who can repair the harness?

It was a bad splice job from the previous owner. The owner before him had fire damage in the engine compartment from a leaky fuel line. It's a big bundle of splices that got electrical taped around and there's some kind of bad grounding going on. Any help would be appreciated. If I were to do this myself, what would I need? What gauge of wire, type of splices, etc...?

The same gauge wire as was in there, or larger. Splices you can't go too high-quality IMO. I like the ones that solder and heat shrink at the same time but a sealing crimp-on splice would probably be fine if properly applied. It would be a PITA but if you don't want to pay a dealership (or if they don't have it) the next option is either an eBay seller or a junkyard. Bonus (?) of a junkyard is you get practice tearing out the stuff you need to remove to get to the harness. You might also see if any eBay sellers are parting out the proper model of car by searching for model-specific parts for sale, and just asking if they'll get the wires for you.
As someone who has applied hundreds if not thousands of splices, I strongly recommend getting a proper (read: >$50) crimping tool if you choose to go with crimp splices.
I'm guessing you don't want to go for $800+ but http://www.hyundaipartszone.com/part...g-9191211.html
these guys have a different part numbering thing going on and it looks like similar prices http://www.wholesalehyundaiparts.com/

Thanks for the help. I have already looked at the parts stores you have linked a couple months back and others. Part number 207-2C182 is the part listed for my VIN at $947.76. I ordered it before and got a refund... They either don't have it in stock anywhere in any warehouse, part is discontinued, or shipping from Korea is unknown in their systems. The dealers have even said the same thing... eBay has been a bust.
If I have to do it myself, what kinds of crimp-on splices do you recommend? Also, the proper tool?

If you have to DIY, you can do much worse than this sort of thing: Soldered connection, hot-melt adhesive, AND heat shrink tubing. Takes 20 seconds per wire. This is the style of connection I recommend you use:

If you want to use crimp-on splices, this is the way:

do not use unsealed/non-shrink tubing types in the engine bay, as they will corrode invisibly until the wire breaks.
I am happy to have an AMP brand crimp tool at work, because they are very high quality. One that looks like these, with the features of these is what I recommend (not necessarily these in particular, this was just the first hit on google tonight http://www.king-cart.com/cgi-bin/car..._name=HWS16166
One more tool you will never be sorry to own, especially when you have lots of butt connections to make: an Ideal Stripmaster

I use these at least a few times a week. Unless you just aren't paying attention, you get a perfectly-cut end on the insulation, and the wire stripped exactly as much as you want.

Back again!
I'm looking for the wires coming from the red circle below. That is the main set of wires I'm looking for to repair the rest of the harness. Is there a part number or name for this? I'm also looking for the one in the green circle as well.

In the image below, it is listed as EC101 (2.7L)

Is this Engine Compartment or Engine Control?
Any help would be appreciated!
