Default Santa Fe CRDI 2010 ECM failure

From August 2010 to 2012 ,our Company purchase more then 43 units of Hyundai Santa fe CRDI 2.2L from Hyundai-Senegal. 10 units of these cars failed because of ECM problems from 30 000 km of mileage. No Recall was sent. We are struggling with Hyundai-Senegal for the replacement of all the damaged ECM for free. But from August 2013, Hyundai-Senegal decided to charge us for the ECM replacement. We think that is really unfair from Hyundai. Has anyone heard about that failure? Any idea of what to do?

First I have ever heard of it. Both my mom and sister have a 2010 and 2011 Santy and neither have any problems with theirs.

Anyway, the issue may concern one lot or sub-lot of ECM. Most of the affected cars in our case were from August 2010 till December 2010.

If needed, we can give some VIN. The major question is what to do

If you were in America, I would say contact Hyundai USA directly instead of your dealership, and if that didn't work to contact the press and make it ugly for the Dealership and Hyundai. In Senegal, I don't know how it goes but you might try contacting Hyundai in Korea.

Is it definitely the ECM at fault? Who services them? Any aftermarket accessories?

That's not a bad idea about checking the serial numbers. Look on the ECU itself and there is usually a sticker with information about what model it is. I know they have used at least two different computers in the genesis so far.

The model number may be this one 39103-2F435 for my case. The serial number: 83CM20TTNVGRN2R2. The technician from Hyundai-Senegal diagnose the code P0606.
