Hyundai Elantra Forum The Hyundai Elantra Forum. Later models (96-up) of this 4-door share their Beta engines and chassis with the Hyundai Tiburon. Earlier Mistubishi-based Hyundai Elantras (92-95) are perfect candidates for the popular 4g63t motor swap, which turns the Hyundai Elantra into a real sleeper. These characteristics make the Hyundai Elantra a great car for those who want sports car performance with family car flexibility.

Default Looks versus performance

The Elantra isnt what I would call a sporty car. Its more of a family or college student type of car. That said, what did you all do first when you got your Elantras? Looks or performance? I focused on performance (intake and exhaust) first, then got wheels and tint. Coil overs will be my next purchase.

Not a true intake. Just a K&N filter to replace the junky factory one and removed the resonator.

My dad's Elantra Wagon came on B+G's. I LOVED blasting past Lexuses and BMW's on the highway, especially on bends. They would pass one another, there I was passing them both LOL.

All of those silly 2000-2001 Hyundais look eerily like Exhibit A.

Exhibit A: Cacklingus Witchus

Back when I had my lil 2000 I tinted the windows first ( Use to be the first thing I did on every car I had )then added a sri ( mostly just for sound )and a set of 01 tibby wheels. I liked that lil car overall , it was a automatic and still seemed to pull good in the high rpm range.

it aint' satisfaction if i can't feel it...

The real true thing i care about in cars is mechanical durability..i don't care if the car is slow, has lousy passing power, goes like a slug with the a/c on, uneven spaced gear selections..as long as it last's..its all that matters.

looks is to me, something that you do to impress your eyeballs & people and win car shows,

if it looks fast but ain't..like some hyundai's in it's lineup..

my gen of elantra wasnt ever really a "cool" looking car and 99% of the flashy body kits that were available for it made it look like a retarded mazda and a downs syndrome jetta gave birth

for example:

that being said, i still turboed the f*ck out of it and will punch the car when it pisses me off

dirty slut likes it too

I own a slow, clean looking Accent. I also own a crap your pants fast, beat up looking Isuzu. I love them both, but the Isuzu puts a bigger smile on my face when i press the gas.
