As you quoted, Open the shielding of the USB cable, find the Green and White wires, splice, and tie them together so it creates a loop back to the tablet. That's all you have to do. Don't touch the red and black wires.



You don't have to cut the end off. You simply open up the wire to access the wires, you loop the data wires together so they return to the tablet. The plug stays so you can plug it into the cigarette lighter charger.

NOT EVERYONE has had to do this. If you get the Scosche charger, it may not require it.



I HAVE BEEN TOLD that firware updates have fixed the charging issue. You no longer need to splice. If you get ANY charging with the tablet on, it's working. If it's charging too slow, make sure you use high quality cables. USB extenders seem to carry less power most of the time. Test it by plugging it into a wall socket and make sure it charges power adequately - using the same cable you'll use in your car.
