I posted in a similar thread a minute ago, But I can say that my engine and trans are most likely original, and I'm at 245k, engine still running strong, but I need a new trans and Timing belt. the belt still looks great, but I have no idea how old it is.

I have a 1997 Tiburon 4 Cyl.
with 308,500 Miles on it and counting and still runs good I commute with it every day Original engine the head has never been off just changed timing belts and water pump,
love the car,

It's cheap insurance to change the timing belt. You should put that on the short list.
Also in the spirit of the thread, my Elantra is around 228k miles. Never opened the engine but it's the third transmission

Wow! over 300k miles is awesome!
Let's see, current GK V6 Tib has 160k on chassis with a motor/trans that came out of one with 150k and I put about 15k on it with around 7k being boosted. So lets just say 165k with 7k of that being blown. V6 burns no oil and still has perfect compression.
