Most HID kits are somewhere between $40 and $75 for decent to high quality. I paid around $50 for mine. Why are these $230?

Because the profit margin in a kit like that is going to be massive vs. a decent $30 kit (all 4 of mine are $30 kits). Even if they only sell a few to idiots who think more money means better product, they'll still come out on top.

99% of the price is due to the name. Save yourself ALOT of money and stick with the $30-50 kits.

I bought some cheap ones and even bought replacement ballast and bulbs for backup. Never had to use them though in going on three years.

i also bought the cheapo ones for my car on ebay..still going strong and no flickering during warm-up.
