Default Installing OEM cruise control

So here is the situation:

I have a 2001 Tiburon G4GF-EG 1975ccm³ 99kW auto. No relevant mods. I want to install the OEM cruise control. Other cruise control modules are either not allowed over here or not suitable for the car or were found to be unreliable/unsafe. I'm not bothered if I couldn't not use the car for some time during install since I have a second car to drive if need be. Had a look around on the forum and saw that the question has been asked in 2007 by richy12345.

I have some questions:

1. Has anybody done it? Pitfalls?

2. If you tried/or wanted to do it, why did you not go through with it?

3. What parts do I need?

- I read that you need the following:

cable/vacuum unit

throttle body with a cruise pulley on it

some vacuum hose

cruise button for the interior (on left side like for defroster on right side gauge cluster)

the bulb for the cluster cruise light

control module

combination switch on steering column

Is that list wrong or incomplete?

4. Under which heading do I find that thing on hyundaitech?

5. Finding a Hyundai Tiburon with cruise control is not easy - there are virtually no Tiburons on the junkyards over here. Anyone has some parts or part numbers?

I hope you guys can help me out

Expand your donor car search to Elantras, as they are basically the same car

Thanks for the input. Unfortunately I already did that.

On ebay I type in either "cruise control" or "Tempomat" and then select Hyundai, Kia, Mitsubishi and not specified. That always yields around 1000 hits on the biggest ebay site over here(ebay.de).

I called all junkyards within a 500 km radius several times. Junkyards in the close vincinty (<100km) I checked in person.

I sorta already accepted that I will have to order parts from the US - though it would be easier if I could get it here. I do not have the option to look at a car with cruise control (elantra or tib) to check which parts I need. I would really appreciate a reference for diagrams on the install or a list of parts I will need.

Explanation why these parts/cars are hard to find over here:

The Elantra is almost as rare as the coupe over here and usually did not come with cruise control for the suitable models. In 2008 and 2009 there was a programme to support the economy (if your car was older than 10 years and you bought a new car you would get 2500 euro extra from the government). Most RDs and lantras/elantras were worth less than that so people got rid of them - they had to ge through the press in that programme i.e. no parts could be taken out. It is usually not worth it for junkyards to keep the cars around as there are not many people interested in parts.

You do have one advantage here: pragmatism. Good luck

i would make sure your car has the wiring first. not all tiburons came with it. there should be an empty triangular shaped plug by the passenger strut tower. it may be taped to the wires along the firewall. i installed all the parts and had no engine bay wiring for it...so i was left at a stand still

if you have that u already got the list of parts needed

if u don't try a universal kit
