Are the HP number you get with these calculators whp or bhp?

How good are these calculators?

WHP. I say they are pretty accurate. For the HP add/subtract a few. For 1/4mi times add .1 of a second or so.

lol it cant be that accurate because there is so many variables that come into play

for example

last time i went to the track i hit 86.4 mph trap time

and yet i couldnt even get a 17.0 1/4

why? im 5800 feet high

Of course it can't be that accurate, but it gives you an estimate of what your car can do with traction, at the sea level, and colder air.

It's been pretty damn accurate for me smile.gif

^^ No, its probably because you launched the car horribly... The height would cause you to get a slower E/T trap speed... you probably would've trapped mid 87mph at sea level. tongue.gif

Based on my GTech run which put me at ~140whp and a weight of 2740 pounds with me in the car (educated guess) it says I would've ran a 15.58. What do ya know, I ran a 15.51 last time at the track. wink1.gif Of course it says I should be running 11.31s with my GSX if I got good traction. So with slicks I guess thats what I would run... with street radials I run 12.5. Shazzam. tongue.gif

well i guess the launch is alright for me

best 60 foot was 2.5 or so

what i think the biggest problem for me was i couldnt shift into second quickly(bad tranny)
plus i ricer dropped the clutch goin into second cuz the bad tranny wouldnt let me shift right

maybe now with this new tranny ill hit mid 16s

best time ever for me was a 16.9

^^ There is plenty of room to work on that launch. Several of us here run 2.3second 60' times consistently. Thats .2 seconds off your time right there, plus another few tenths over the course of the rest of the quarter.

Do let us know how you run on the new tranny though. wink1.gif

I got 2.26 60" times. So you gotta work on those launches man smile.gif

.25 off the 60" times will bring you almost half a second off the 1/4 mi.

Plus with better tranny you should get better shift into second smile.gif
