Default My Build Thread v4.0

I finally did some work on the Tib.

I notched the block for the Pauters and cleaned up the garage for the (re) build.

Background: I built a motor with Pauters and checked for clearance while on the stand. Apparently it wasn't enough since I kept spinning bearings and hearing knocking on initial startup after 3krpms. Oil pressure checked ok. All that I could conclude was that it was the Pauters hitting the block.

I'm not sure really. I've got all the parts for a huge build, but free time is short for me these days. I believe all I need is to balance a new crank, rewire or get another engine harness, and find a new tuning platform. I didn't do ARP main studs last time so I'll probably add those in too.

I already had the rods checked for roundness and the crank worked and mic'd. But I forgot if they shaved it, or what they shaved it to......maybe 10. But either way, while I'm getting the crank balanced by a different shop, I'm gonna have them check over the work done by the other. Then of course plastigauge when I put it together. Tripple checked....

In the last 2 days, I bought:

Megan Shortshifter (I sold my adjustable R-Side 2 years ago)
OBX Crank Pulley (Sold that one too)
New 83mm Wiseco Rings (just want them to be fresh again)
3" V-band clamp and flanges for easy exhaust removal
12" Flex pipe
4 new injector clips

After I get the pulley, I'll head over to the shop to get the rotation assembly balanced. Good thing is they don't need to balance the rods/pistons again.

So..... I can't turn back now. wink.gif

Everything came in the mail, including the main studs. Cleaned and painted block.

I took the crank to the shop today. Should get done by next week. Once I get it, putting together the lower end should go quick.
