Jsharptooth91's Beta 2 swap
Well guys here it is. I got the motor over this weekend. Here are some shots of it. All i need to get it running is a flywheel and exhaust header. If any one has one they want to get rid of let me know! I am installing this on a 1.5L tranny.
Here is my shopping list.
1. 2002 Elantra engine. They are the MAP based engines. $475.00 with 63k on it.
4. 1.6 DOHC LC ECU. Used $100.00
5. Clutch (Scoupe turbo). New $95.00
6. OBX under drive pulley. New $78.00*
8. Water pump. New $60.00
9. Timing belt. New $55.00
10. Spark plugs and wires. New $60.00
* Parts not needed to complete swap. Just easier to do when the motor is out of the car.
All parts are gathered....

Yeah. I've almost done it a couple of times since it should be a weekend project. Drive to work Friday with a 1.6l and drive to work Monday with a 2.0l. Lol.

This would of been a weekend project. But I kinda got jipped on parts. I would have the motor in and running if it came with an exhaust manifold and flywheel. Now i have to spen an extra 200 to 300 on that stuff. I had a set budget for the swap and im over it and out of cash. Dam wrecking yards, at least they gave me 50 bucks back for not having an exhaust on it. But anyways, i have cleaned up the motor a bit more and I will post some more pix. I should be getting a flywheel in 2 weeks and flywheel bolts from the dealer, and I should be able to put the motor in the car and start the rewiring.

that sucks about the missing parts man, what are you going to do about the exhaust manifold? Will you go with headers since you have to spend money or just go with another used stocker? You can get some nice headers for these Beta's
